Lane Keeping Assist System

Lincoln’s Lane Keeping system uses a camera located behind the rear view mirror to monitor the road lane markings and detect unintentional drifting outside of the lane. If the system detects unintentional drifting, it will display an alert and the steering system will aid you to stay in your lane.

The system will not drive the vehicle for you. When the system is activated and detects no steering activity for a short period of time it will alert you to put your hand back on the steering wheel. The system is available when the vehicle is moving at at least 40 mph and will work as long as the camera can detect at least one lane marking.

Mode Settings

The Lane Keeping Assist system also has two other mode options; Alert Only Mode and Aid Only Mode. Alert Only Mode provides a steering vibration when the system detects unintended lane departure. Aid Only Mode provides steering assistance towards the middle of the lane when unintended lane departure is detected.

Blind Spot Alert System

When the system detects a vehicle in your blind spot, a warning light on the side view mirror will light up to let you know there is a car there. If you activate your turn signal while the system detects a car in your blind spot, the warning light will flash to enforce the fact that it is not safe to switch lanes.
