Lane Keeping Assist System

Lincoln’s Lane Keeping system uses a camera located behind the rear view mirror to monitor the road lane markings and detect unintentional drifting outside of the lane. If the system detects unintentional drifting, it will display an alert and the steering system will aid you to stay in your lane.

Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for certain 2019 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles equipped with lane-centering assist and adaptive front steering. These vehicles may not adequately detect if a driver has his or her hands off the steering wheel. If this occurs, the hands on/off detection system may not alert the driver to place his or her hands back on the steering wheel, which could increase the risk of a crash.

 

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries resulting from this condition.

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ has earned a Top Safety Pick + rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Improvements to the MKZ front-end structure have improved the score compared to previous models. 

To earn a "Top Safety Pick +" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (the highest rating the IIHS gives), a vehicle must have "good ratings in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. It also must have an available front crash prevention system that earns an advanced or superior rating."
